Support teachers play an integral role at Auburn Public School. They work alongside teachers providing students with valuable and targeted support, ensuring positive learning experiences and enhanced learning outcomes.
Ms S. Maugeri
Ms Maugeri is supporting Early Stage 1 in 2024. She works alongside Early Stage 1 teachers, assisting with various programs and activities which support student outcomes. Ms Maugeri's passion for teaching stems from her desire to support students in their learning journey and see them thrive.
Mrs R. Kumar
Mrs Kumar is an EAL/D Support Teacher for Stage 2 and Stage 3 classes in 2024. She has been an educator for more than 20 years. Mrs Kumar specialises in Teaching English as a Second Language. She has taught students across K-6 in many roles, including New Arrival Program (NAP), EAL/D Teacher Mentor, COVID Intensive Learning Support Program (CILSP), Classroom Teacher, Reading Recovery, Teacher Librarian, Support Teacher Learning Assistance (STLA), and Early Intervention. Mrs Kumar has a passion for teaching the English Language to all students, particularly those from non-English speaking backgrounds.
Miss C. Mason
Miss Mason is working as EAL/D Support in 2024. She works with students from years 1 to 6 in the EAL/D classes. As well as many years teaching in Australia, Miss Mason has spent two years teaching in the United Kingdom, where she taught year 2 in a school with mostly EAL/D students. Miss Mason has a passion for teaching reading and is excited to support new arrivals students to find enjoyment in and improve their reading.
Miss B. Karacasulu
Having joined Auburn Public School in 2023 as a casual teacher Miss Karacasulu is back in 2024 as a full-time support teacher. Miss Karacasulu has quickly become a valuable asset to our team with her ability to teach in all learning areas. Prior to becoming an educator, she held various roles in multiple childcares. She loves to interact with each and every student in her care in order to foster deeper connections with them. This helps in understanding each student, their strengths and weaknesses. It also allows the students to enjoy class more as they want to be there. Miss Karacasulu is looking forward to having the opportunity to teach in as much classes as possible in Auburn Public School.
Miss R. El-Cheikh
Miss El-Cheikh is currently a support teacher at Auburn Public School. She began teaching in 2023 as a casual relief teacher at various public schools. Miss El-Cheikh is passionate about inspiring a love of learning in her students. She believes in creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment where students feel unlimited in their potential.
Mrs A. Jan
Mrs Jan is currently a Support Teacher, teaching various classes across grades K-6. She is very passionate about education and believes in cultivating the best learning environment to allow children to reach their full potential. Whilst Mrs Jan takes a lot of care and pride in ensuring her students learn and thrive academically, she also ensures a holistic growth-mindset approach in building self-esteem, confidence, and a positive outlook on learning that projects to social and behavioural aspects of students’ lives. Mrs Jan has a background in High School teaching overseas, where she taught English as a second language. She has been a qualified Primary School teacher in Australia for many years and has gained vast experiences in both the private and public Primary School sectors. Mrs Jan very much enjoys every aspect of teaching and feels a huge sense of fulfillment and joy with her life-long career as an instrumental educator.
Mrs. M Zaki
With over three decades of dedicated service in the field of education, Mrs. Miriam Zaki stands as a pillar of experience and wisdom in her role as a primary school teacher. Her passion for teaching burns brightly, ignited by the profound impact she can make on young minds. Mrs. Zaki finds immense joy in witnessing the spark of understanding in her students' eyes and takes pride in nurturing their intellectual curiosity and growth. Beyond the curriculum, she is committed to instilling values of gratitude, kindness, resilience, and empathy in her students, believing that education extends far beyond the confines of textbooks. Mrs. Zaki's dedication to her profession is driven by her unwavering belief in the transformative power of education to shape a brighter future for generations to come.
Mrs U. Issa
Mrs Issa is a temporary/ casual teacher at Auburn Public School. She's been teaching at schools for 18 years. Mrs Issa also taught at a preschool for almost 10 years. She specialises in teaching languages , Arabic and French as well as English As A Second language . Her hobbies are reading , writing kids stories, watching documentaries and Art.
Ms. H Fashik
Ms Fashik is teaching across K-6 in 2024. She has a passion for teaching and has been at APS for many years. She is dedicated to cultivating a positive learning environment to help students develop and improve their Literacy and Numeracy skills.
