Auburn Public School Sensory Playground
On Friday 25th July 2014 we officially opened the Auburn Public School Inclusive Sensory Playground. For over 2 years the Support Unit staff and the P and C have been raising funds to go towards the construction of an Inclusive Sensory Playground which has features specifically designed to stimulate our students with special needs such as Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
This playground provides our special needs students with positive playground opportunities along side their mainstream peers and will help to develop and cater to students physical, social, emotional and sensory needs.
We raised around $120 000 and this could not have been possible without the generous support provided by Dooley's, the Community Building Partnership Program, the Transgrid Community Partnership Program, Auburn City Council, Rebecca Ho (Touched by Olivia Foundation), Ben Richards (Landscape Architect) and many more.
