Meet 3/6K! We have been very busy already this year! We have been learning a lot in class with Mrs Kimura, Mr Shane and Miss Ataman.
Literacy – we have done so much! For example – recount writing, persuasive writing, simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, verbs, adjectives, nouns, adverbs, conjunctions, spelling, reading
Next in Literacy - imaginative texts, looking at how to create characters in stories, editing our own work, creating class books for the infant classes to read
The students of 3/6K really enjoy reading their home reader to Mr Shane during our silent reading time.
Mathematics – counting on, counting backwards, whole number, place value, addition, subtraction, number lines, data and creating graphs
Next in Mathematics - 2D shapes, 3D shapes, using ‘Shape Seekers’ program to solve a shape mystery, area, time, number patterns, multiplication
3/6K also enjoy playing math games.
Sport and Fitness - Mrs Kimura is teaching us how to play hockey and we think we are getting very good at it!
Health - Year Five and Six learnt CPR, taught how to perform chest compressions and how to look for danger when they are faced with an emergency.
3/6K studied how to have healthy and active lifestyles in Term One. This term we are looking at our identity and what makes us who we are.
